Looks Like Rain on Thursday
A meeting exhibition with Michal Bonano and Amit Trainin, two established illustrators, who share elements of their personal biographies. Toward the exhibition, Michal and Amit set out on a journey together, where they interviewed each other, visited at each other’s homes, discussed art, literature, family, and food. They also wondered if would rain on Thursday. In order to discern and discover the similarities and differences experienced in the space that shaped their lives, they travelled to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Kibbutz Beit Nir, and Kibbutz Ein Hashofet. The exhibition in the Beita gallery displays sculptural objects, texts, illustrations, and paintings that make up a unique, hybrid, and colorful installation. It creates connections between the questions and answers, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and between the everyday Israeli experience with each one’s source of inspiration for art.
